A well-thought out tutorial, with loads of helpful tips. Although I started quite late in life (I passsed my GFT on November 5th 2002 aged 58), I'm loving every minute of it. Having achieved my IMC and Night Ratings since then, I find the section on IFR especially of interest. The NDB item will be great for those struggling with the quirks of the RBI. I've recommended the site to a couple of students already, as well as the excellent FTO that took me through the learning process. My flying is done out of Manston (EGMH),and we're located for easy trips into France, Holland, Belgium and the Channel Islands.

Jon, The text is a little small in the Tutor. It should be better on your desktop. You may also want to try displaying the website in full screen mode. In Windows IE, click View, then Fullscreen (or press F11). Joe

I appreciate this free tutoring service very much. I'm brand new to this world. And having just start an ATV class, I was told to start reading. Being that everything in this book is foreign to me, I went on a rampage to find some useful visual demonstrations and this site is the King! Thanks Again!

Depending on the level of private tutoring you are looking for you will obviously have different experience and qualifications requirements. Qualification checks are the one way you can be sure that your private tutor knows what they're talking about. For primary school all you really need to look for is someone with either a teaching degree or a university student (undergraduate) that has a great rapport with children.

Hi, excellent content and presentation. very easy to follow for beginners. May i point out that in the Topic "Weather" under (Clouds), the page after Lenticular Clouds, you have described a line (Para 3) as "The up and down drafts as well as heavy turbulence will make for an comfortable ride". Shouldn’t it read as “uncomfortable ride” instead of “an comfortable ride”? thanks and keep up the good work. God Bless

Mr. Murphy, your site is an excellent resource. Using the graphics in the way you do clarifies, in a way that text books can't, important sequences ie; effect of the wind on approaches to land, or tracking to a navaid. A much appreciated supplement to the Manuals. Thankyou.
